The info is not incorrect. Rufus is completely unnecessary. Then restart computer and choose USB to boot from. And like xrobwx has asked, you've done this? So what are you trying to say? There is a great selection of software that accomplishes the task of creating a bootable USB stick, but Rufus is easy to use and very compatible with a wide variety of ISO images.
Of course I have done this. What do you think Rufus is? It is an executable made of commands already found in Windows. All you do is copy the files as I instructed in my previous post to a properly formatted USB stick, and you can boot from it. It is as simple as that. Your method sounds nice, but it just does not work in real life.
