Word gets stuck opening a document downloading linked files

This is newish problem. I have no problem if I use Google Chrome. Can you provide me the download link of that word document if that is possible so I can replicate it here on my end? I have tried to download other stuff on the web using Edge and didn't encounter the same problem. I tried it here on my and the download bar below Edge shows when I downloaded the document on the link that you provided. Anyway, Edge is still on development and we can really expect a few hiccups on it.

Let's try to reset Edge. Kindly follow the steps below. Click on the start button and click on settings gear icon 2. Click on Apps, navigate on the list, and click on Microsoft Edge. If Uninstall is not available, kindly click on Advanced options and click on Reset. After that, try to check again on the download and hopefully, the downloaded file would appear on the bottom-left part of Edge. Oh, I see. It seems that part of the Microsoft Edge is going under the taskbar.

Would it be okay if you send a screenshot of your entire screen so I can examine it? Make sure that it is the entire screen so I can check every part of it. For now, try to check if the Microsoft Edge is set on Maximize Window.

Kindly press the middle one to Maximize the Window. If that didn't work, kindly right-click on an empty part of your taskbar and choose taskbar settings.

On Taskbar setting, make sure that Lock the taskbar is On, and both automatically hide the taskbar are turned off. Hi Ron, The "Choose always open files of this type" means that you set a default program for a certain file type. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
